“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” — Eleanor Roosevelt
Financial aid is available to those who qualify. To find out if you qualify, begin your financial aid process by filling out the FAFSA®. This is a free application. Completing it can help determine whether you qualify for need-based grants or loans from the federal government. Even if you are not eligible for a need-based loan, you might still qualify for an unsubsidized federal loan, which is not need-based. We understand that the financial aid process can be confusing. That is why we have a knowledgeable financial aid team that is happy to assist you and answer your questions.
To complete the FAFSA®, first gather the following information:
American Hair Academy’s school code is 016167.
Once you submit the FAFSA® form, your information will automatically be sent to our school within a few days. We will be able to see what you qualify for and help you better understand your options.
You may be eligible for federal aid if you meet the following requirements:
Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant is a need-based grant available to undergraduate students. The Federal Pell Grant does not have to be repaid. Pell Grants are awarded only to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s or a professional degree.
Subsidized Loan
Subsidized loans are available to eligible undergraduate students, and qualification is based on financial need. Taking out a subsidized loan means you are borrowing money from the government, and you will need to pay it back. However, interest on the money owed will not accumulate while you are enrolled at school.
Unsubsidized Loan
Unsubsidized loans are not based on financial need. Like other loans from the government, it will need to be paid back. Unlike a subsidized loan, interest will begin to accumulate once the loan money has been disbursed.
Parent PLUS Loan
A Parent PLUS loan is for the parents of a child enrolling in an eligible undergraduate school. It could help the parents pay for their child’s school expenses. Note that the applicants of the PLUS loan are subject to a credit check. Repayment begins immediately after the loan is fully disbursed. Parent PLUS loans can be combined with other forms of financial aid.
Scholarships are a great way to pay for beauty school since they typically do not need to be repaid. That means you could reduce the amount of tuition owed. Here are some examples of scholarships related to the beauty industry:
